Tenth House Started--in Attica

The Ground Breaking Ceremony for the latest house to be built by Habitat for Humanity of Benton, Fountain, and Warren Counties was held on Sunday afternoon, April 19, 2009 in Attica to celebrate the beginning of a new family home. Due to rain, the ceremony was held inside the Free Methodist Church, approximately one block away from the building site. This build is the tenth for this affiliate and is located in Attica on a lot donated to Habitat by Harrison Steele Casting Company.

The Partner Family has already started the required Sweat Equity hours by taking classes and working on other Habitat projects. The footers are being dug this week, and progress on the house will continue over the spring and summer months with a planned completion date by late August. Volunteers are needed to assist with construction, preparing and serving food to construction volunteers, and on various committees. To help, please contact our office.
